CIRCA, the University of Florida Computer Labs. My first semester back at school after a four year hiatus, an English Major taught me to use Workperfect in the computer labs. I realized a lot had happened during the four years I had been out of school. So I applied for the student assistant job, passing the required exam and was able to learn and earn.

Customer Service

From my teenage years through my work as self-employed massage therapist, I have always worked in customer service in some way in addition to other work I may have done. I worked as a server throughout my education with varying degrees of responsibility. I trained new staff, reprogrammed computer registers, took inventory, and handled scheduling. At one point I held the keys to two banks, a restaurant, a hotel front office, and a fitness center. My duties included opening and closing of the restaurant, depositing the receipts in the safe in the hotel office. I also handled opening and closing duties of the fitness center as well as maintaining the customer database. In addition, I had taken over biweekly cleaning of the two banks when my sister left to go back to school. I even once worked as a receptionist for a law firm in the Watergate building: Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Kampleman.
